I'm considering purchasing a Merlin Mountain. I want this to be a hassle-free bike.
I've owned a few quality aluminum frames in the past, but had problems with dings and dents that accumulated over time and made the frames worthless. I'm not a reckless rider and most of the damage occured in slow technical trails where I've had to bail out. I've heard that titanium frames are less susceptable to damage. Merlin owners, please tell me how your frames have held up over the years. Is a Mountain more durable than the XLM due to its thicker tubing or should that not be a concern?
