: Sorry for the screw-up. I can't tell you about Merlin mountain bike durability, but I've had a Merlin road frame for about 8 years and it has survived four major crashes with no problems. First, my truck carrying my bike was totalled by a drunk, knocking my bike out. Then, a guy pulled in front of me and I cruised into his fender at about 20 mph, killing my fork and front wheel. Lastly, in one race I went down hard in the pack, probably breaking a guy's collarbone with my front wheel. I limped in only to have a course marshall walk out in front of me in a very clear area and knock us both down hard. I'm also not a lightweight (180-195) and take tracks and other obstacles hard. I love my Merlin and hope to get a mountain soon. Ray
