XLM WARRANTY - RACKS

I am considering a XLM Merlin - but as I browsed the warranty section I noted that - the warranty is voided by installing a rack. I was considering using the bike for commutes and this would be a drawback - is the only solution to move to the heavier Mountain frame. Ideas? Suggestions please...
