: For those who may be interested i installed a RockShox Ruby SL front fork & have just returned from my first ride of the season ( winter has finally left Ottawa) i am absolutely amazed in this shocks performance! ( i ran a Paris Rubais for the last 4 years) Ruby eats up smaller "road irregularities" with ease & gobbles up the larger "pot-holes" with hardly a quiver! the slight additional weight factor (fork weighs about 2/12 lbs. is nothing when you realize just how pleasant it is to run this shock. Also as i am "playing the back nine" i finally gave up & asked for "granny's" assistance by turned my DurAce loose & installing a triple Ultegra 9 spd.with the Flightdeck option. Never again will i have to peek between my legs to check which gear(s) i'm in!! The readout on the display tells me! Quite amazing. To say the least it has been a great experience! If you want a truly comfortable riding experience i highly recommend you consider Ruby you won't regret it! pje
Paul, as I am getting up there in age, I'm also thinking about the triple. I have a Merlin Road, would I have to change the spindle length? How much heavier is the set up?
Thanks for the info.
