Is there a prefered suspension fork for a Merlin Mountian? I have tried a 97 Rock Shock Judy SL fork and found it waay too flexy, that is the handling was disappointing with a vague wandering feel. Keep in mind that the fork was set up with light springs and damping, no adjustment really corrected the mush. Roof tossing the Judy SL. I have recently installed a White Bros. SC-70 that is excellent for handling but suffers from slight stiction issues and portly wieght. The SC-70 looks great with an almost Ti finish to the legs. Highly recommended for medium to heavy riders but not the best for a light wieght rider.
Does anyone have experience with the new Rock Shock SID forks? Will it handle well with the added plus of the super light wieght? Wouldn't mind loosing nearly a pound and a half but without the handling penelty as experienced with the Judy SL. Please respond with thoughts, Thanks!
