Cherie's new 6_4 works taking S.A By storm
Team Manager Cherie giving it some!
The Merlin Development Squad juniors, were put through their pre season physiological testing at the weekend, this was to determine their power output, HR levels, together with blood and urine sample analysis etc. This will enable the team to be now given a more accurate training plan based on there individual test results.
The Merlin Sports Physiologist Ian Freeman who also monitors the Amateur Swimming Association athletes and is based at Loughborough University, was in charge of the testing, along with Team Director / Coach, Cherie Pridham and Team Manager Eddie White.
This proved a highly successful weekend, apart from the information collected from the riders it also allowed time for the team and parents to meet new members and get to know one another.
After Scott Thwaites was tested he went back home to Yorkshire, to compete in the National Area Cyclo Cross Championships where he took 2nd place in the youth category to finish of his last cyclo cross of the season, he will now be taking a short break before starting his preparation for the road season, as a Junior for the Merlin Development Squad Team. Whilst other members of the team finished of the weekend , with a structured training ride through the Derbyshire hills with Cherie Pridham. |
