The cielo still reigns as the bike worlds equivalent of the Sistine Chapel. The secret ingredient that the great frame designer Tom Kellogg built into all the Merlin bikes was his passion for PERFORMANCE, ask Tom the best criterium bike he knows and it is the Cielo. How can something so beautiful, be such a great performance road racing bike, yet it is masked by the frames beauty.

When we first heard the passion for performance in Toms voice we knew there was an element to Merlin bikes we were not shouting out loud enough.and it got all of us thinking.

Little did Tom Kellogg know that his words would start a chain of events that had a development team taking influence and knowledge from around the globe. Design teams in Chattanooga USA, Product advisers from a secret new cycling team headed up by tour legend Sean Kelly himself. Our test riders were a mix of young and old, experienced and fresh racers from across the globe. Our own Merlin development squad were testing bikes that they didn't even know would carry the Merlin Works badge. And 18 months later we have a collection of bikes that we simply call "Works" No fancy names, just call them what they are and if you see the Works name you know the bike has been created with one goal..ultimate performance. Using for the first time 6/4 titanium tubes in abundance, the new line up really is a collective of the best materials and the finest engineering.

Whilst the Works category satisfies a more adrenalin/Race driven rider the classic bike range of Merlin's still exist with emphasis on the finest craftsmanship and quality only Merlin frame builders can deliver. The Cyrene and Cielo have a new engraving style that mimics tribal bands and Celtic artistry in as expected a truly outstanding manner. Our custom program still grows from strength to strength and give the customer whom knows exactly what they desire the chance to have there dream bike created.
