We had basically received many requests to offer the Newsboy again, but we wanted to offer more than that. After many discussions we decided that the goal would be to accuratly replicate the first mountain bikes. In that time, the 1930's bikes such as the Excelsior were the prefered choice to be modified into what we now call mountain bikes. This was mostly due to the fact that they were easier to modify and also because they were structurally better versus the 50's type beach cruisers which were more easier available at the time and thus more common as a basis. The Roots is our homage to these first mountain bikes and will be available in a limited series, with only 50 produced.
