: Hello,
: I am considering an xlm vs a mountain frame. i am having a hard time spending that much money, but after the initial shock, i thought that the xlm is only 20% more. Does anyone out there have some advice for me. Which way should i go? will the xlm be everything that i want in 5yrs? will Merlin be around to support me in 5 yrs?

: thanks for the feedback

Hey Mark, I have just ordered a Merlin XLM and I belive strongly that this will be a very relyable bike for me. I hear that a lot of people think that, oh... the XLM is so light, so it will not be as strong as the Mountain. They are both bomb proof bikes anyway you look at it. I think that if the weight of your bike is important to you and you are looking for a absolutly perfect bike and willing to pay for it, then go with the XLM. And on the other hand if you dont have the cash and you dont really care about the weight of your bike all that much then the Mountain. I hope I could aid you on your decision, you definatly pick the right company to deal with, Merlin will be around for a long time at the rate they are going now, being purchased by Hyde Industries and all.

If you have any further questions don't hesitate to mail me...
Adam.
