: : I´ve done some 700 miles on my Merlin mountain and - apparently like other people - I´m now experiencing a similar click noise when standing up and cranking hard on uphills, with the chain on the mid chainring (all parts XTR 97). The noise is hardly audible but it seems to come from the bottom bracket. Everytime the right crank arm is in the lowest position there is one slight click.
: : Thanks a lot for your advice.

: That's it alright help !!

I would suggest that you remove your cranks and bottom bracket, clean it out if it is dirty, lube it up (make sure when you put the bottom bracket back in thats it's not dry, it's important to lube it) then put it all back together with the cranks all tightened up good and then see if it continues. If so also check your pedal berings they might be loose. The main to look for is that you cranck are properly fit on your bb spindles. Try this and it it doesen't stop post another message and I'll think of some other approches.
Hope I helped you out...
Adam
