: Does anybody know the best fork for the ExtraLight. I'm in the process of ordering the frame and need to know what works best with the frame.
: I currently have a Kestrel 200sci with the EMS fork and its great, would this fork perform as well on the ExtraLight.

this previous post should be helpful -
I have used both the Time Vectran and the Wound Up X-Wound forks. I
would say that
the Time fork is the more comfortable of the two, with greater fore-aft
compliance. The
Wound Up fork has greater torsional stiffness, so that the legs
do not twist nearly as much in turns. Tom Kellogg describes the feeling
as "having your
hands on the front axle." I live in the Swiss Alps, and the Wound Up
fork steers much quicker
in the switchbacked descents here. In sum. I'd say choose the Time for
comfort or for its classic
looks, and choose the Wound Up for all-out cornering performance (while
maintaining very good
ride comfort).
Best wishes
Ted C.
