I'm in the same predicament as you right now. I
have the ALL CAPS post a few clicks down. Aside from
being limited to the Phil Wood BB (which I hear
costs 75$ for a STEEL spindle with bearings) you
will be limited to the Campagnolo 9 speed setup.
If you like Dura Ace for the weight savings, you're
completely out of luck because Shimano made sure
you can only use the new cranks with their new BB.
Of course you can still use the old low profile DA
cranks, but since about half of the 9 speed DA
weight savings are in the cranks, what's the point
of doing that?

I love my Merlin Road for the ride quality and weight,
but the inability to upgrade to the new parts has
pissed me off a bit.
