re. re Merlin in the Far East
I have just moved to Australia after 11 years in Hong Kong--partly so I can get the time and places to ride my EL and other assorted bikes.
So, I havre sympathy for Moses comments about
HK, but he is very wrong about the lack of "friendly bike shops".
Flying Ball--the HK agents for Merlin---is a real bike shop and one of the best I have seen in 40 years of bike riding on 4 continents. Yes, living can be pricy in HK but the prices on bike stuff in Flying Ball are usually llower than in the country the stuff comes from-----and salaries are higher and taxes (15% income tax: no sales taxes) much lower in HK.
A much bigger worry is pollution and as Moses says ,the shortage of riding places......BUT don't gve up! Keep the Faith.
