I have an engineering background and currently work in marketing. During college I worked extensively with titanium for aerospace apps. I am not saying that I know all there is to know, but honestly I believe Merlin is saying this about Litespeeds 6al/4v because Merlin doesn't use it, have it, know how to make tubing from it, etc.

It is a basic marketing principle that when your company doesn't have a certain product, you diminish the competitors product.

Oh yeah, I own a Vortex and consider it the sweetest ride (stiffer than an Extralight without being harsh). But I don't have anything bad to say about Merlins. I just think that Merlin is putting a market spin to cast doubt on Litespeed.

The breakage rate of Litespeeds and Merlins is incredibly small relative to that of other materials I'm sure. My opinion is dont get caught in the blah blah blah.

Good riding,

Karl
