If anyone can help:
I recently bought (second-hand) a Merlin Frame (#927)
with the GG BB. I don't have a problem with this setup
in general, but when I ordered a Campy Chorus Group for
it, I was told that I needed a 103mm spindle to fit the
low profile crank that came with the group. Now I find
out that the minimum spindle length for this BB is
107mm. My question is this:
Can the BB be refaced to remove enough metal to fit a
103mm, or do I have to send the frame back to have a
modern one welded on?
If I need the new BB, how expensive is it?
Are there any other options (besides putting a 5 y.o.
C-Record crank in place of the Chorus, which I plan
on doing for the meantime)?
