Hi Steve,
Thanx for your reply. I was going to but decided
not to last nite, buy one of those CNC brake boosters
simply becuase I didn't want to add any more weight
to my 22.5lb rig unless absolutely essential.
Some of the essentials I have are a bullet proof
seatpost, for that I got the Syncros hardcore.,
Kore stem,JUDY XC, ti flat bar and shimano DX/SPD636 which
are not light weight but hoefully durable.
As for brake levers, I had the Altek Vbrake
compatible to go with my X-ray but I'd sold
that and now use the new XTR combo.
I once broke a high dollar US made crank which
is still reputed to be super stiff and recommended
to hefty pedallers. I am using complete XTR drivetrain.
Have you heard of anyone breaking XTR anything?
Big Jay loves to play & don't mind to pay
Big Jay wants to play it safe to ride another day
Happy trails.

: Hi Jay,
: I am also "huge" (6'6", 210 lbs), ride a 21.5 XLM
: with V-brakes (Paul Levers). I'm surprised that
: you have to squeeze much with the V.B. I used to
: have that problem with my canti's, but now I find
: that I can lock up with 2-fingers as advertised.
: No problem. Are you using long-pull levers?

: Anyway, I don't use a booster and have no complaints.
