The Merlin is a much better bike, not only for looks but for better performance. The Merlin Road is a better made product for sure. The perceived " double butted" tubes on the litespeed are for the marketing only, they offer little in performance over the straight gage Merlin. However, the Merlin EL is really worth the extra bucks though. It is much lighter and stiffer yet still a better ride than anything steel. Get a Syncro Ti seatpost for the best comfort on long rides.
Count how many cheap litespeeds you see and decide between a clone or the high zoot product you really want.
