I was thinking of buying a friends pre 94 mountain/mtn bike, this has the 1" headset. Does anyone know if you think the 1" headset frame is still worth buying or would all suggest to buy a new frame that has the 1 1/8" headset which will accomdate all the new forks etc. The overall bike has all xtr, c king headset, white ind hubs,mavic rims, syncros stem,seatp,titan. handlebars,avenir titan. bar ends, 8 spd, vbrakes xtr, manitou 4 fork, threaded 1",
Is there a market for the older 1" headset frames. Does anybody know how they ride compared the the 1/8" newer frame ?
This bike has really never been ridin, its basically brand new, the overall bike that i'll pick it up for would be less than the cost of the frame or a new frame.
I can save money with the older headset..is it worth it ?
