I found a dealer not far from home actually and looked at a Mountain frame. It was incredible! I've seen plenty of Litespeeds and they have actually varied by a large degree on weld quality, final finish, etc., but the Merlin definately had all the finishing touches you would expect. I also found out the tubing size is different as the Obed has smaller tubes all around. I found out that the Owl Hollow I was also considering is a seam welded down tube! It is made of 6/4 for stiffness and weight Litespeed says in the catalog, but they don't tell you it isn't a drawn out tube. Instead it is a sheet they roll and weld since 6/4 is so hard to work with. If I'm looking at this much of an investment I want a Merlin. Not a mass produced/marketed standard frame.

The shop I went to also sold Litespeed, but everyone who works there rides a Merlin. Proof enough for me.

Thanks for the reply!
