You are correct in that disc brakes are gaining not only in popularity, but also in performance. Currently, our design team is investigating the technology, and the impact that those stresses have on our frames.
As a note ... the stresses transferred by disc brakes on a frame are not the same as a rim brake system. Not only are the braking forces different, but since a disc brake is located on the non-drive side only, the torsional forces due to braking are also impacted.
As I mentioned above, we are looking into the technology.
