MERLIN CHIEF LARCO PROMOTED TO HEAD
SAUCONY CYCLING DIVISION
PEABODY (Mass.) - Saucony, Inc. (NASDAQ:SCNYA and SCNYB), announced
today the promotion of Federico Larco to President of its Cycling
Division which includes Merlin, Quintana Roo and Real Design. Mr. Larco
has been General Manager of the Company's Merlin Bicycle Company since
February 1998 and joined Merlin as its Chief Operating Officer in
February 1997. Prior to joining Merlin, Mr. Larco worked at General
Electric in various management positions. Mr. Larco holds a mechanical
engineering degree from Cornell University.
Mr. Larco will succeed Daniel Empfield who resigned as President of
Quintana Roo, Inc. to pursue other interests.
The Company also announced that Mr. Ken Malach would be joining the
Saucony Cycling Division as the Vice President of Sales. Mr. Malach
most recently worked as International Footwear Sales Manager of
Saucony's Footwear Division. Prior to Saucony Mr. Malach was Vice
President of Vetta Sports, Inc. and Director of Sales for Klein Bicycle
Corp. Mr. Malach will also be responsible for marketing activities
regarding the Saucony Cycling Division.
Saucony also announced the promotion of Mr. Scott Sanderson to the
position of Vice President, Product Development for its Cycling
Division. Mr. Sanderson's promotion is in addition to his current
position as the President of Real Design. Prior to Saucony's purchase
of Real Design, Mr. Sanderson was the General Manager and Vice President
of ANZA Asia.

line of performance-oriented athletic shoes for adults under the
Saucony¨ brand name, (ii) high-quality bicycles, frames and components
under the Quintana Roo¨, Real¨ and Merlin¨ names, (iii) athletic apparel
under the Hind¨ brand name and (iv) shoes for coaches and officials
under the Spot-Bilt¨ name.
