The Process
1). Use Merlin's Made-To-Measure® Request Form or go straight to your Merlin Dealer. This form asks questions regarding riding preferences, body geometry, as well as current bike geometry and setup. Answering these questions is the first step towards obtaining your custom Merlin. The Merlin Made to Measure Form® is a pdf file which you can open in Adobe Acrobat and print.

If you don't have the Acrobat plug-in, click below to download it from Adobe's website.

2). Now, it's definitely time to visit your Merlin Dealer. There, you and the dealer will continue the fitting process by providing a visual fit, linear fit or a combination of the two methods. Certain Merlin dealers will have a very specialized set of tools developed by the Dutch company Bikefitting.com, which will take every measurement necessary for your perfect bike.

3). The Merlin dealer can also make additional notes on your Made-To-Measure® form, which will further enhance your fit. This will also be the time when you decide with your dealer what components you want on your new Custom Merlin bicycle. Once the forms are filled in, your dealer will then forward them to our custom department.

4). Our Master Frame Designer translates the measurements acquired by you and your Merlin dealer into frame dimensions. The end result will be an approval drawing, which will be faxed to your Merlin Dealer. At this point, the dealer and you will examine the approval drawing. Now is the time to make any final adjustments you wish. It is YOUR bike and we want it to be perfect. If approved, those dimensions will be sent to our Master Frame Designer who will then create a lifesized CAD drawing.

5). This CAD drawing accompanies your frame as each artisan meticulously adds their personal touch along the way. Before too long this Merlin Masterpiece will arrive at your Merlin dealer, along with the CAD drawing. Once the dealer has meticulously assembled your Custom Merlin, you can take it out for that first test ride.

Careful, you may not be able to stop smiling.
